Bahawalpur teenager remanded in jail for alleged AI-assisted poisoning plot

A judicial magistrate has sent a 17-year-old from Bahawalpur to jail on a 14-day judicial remand, according to a report by Dawn. The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) had accused the teenager of attempting to poison his father after seeking information from artificial intelligence.

The magistrate was informed the suspect's father had no objection to the case and that the teenager was his parents' only son. The investigating officer stated the suspect, a second-year student, used to conduct various kinds of research and that his physical custody was no longer required.

Dawn reports the NCCIA arrested the teenager on September 23, alleging he had developed strained relations with his father and had planned to kill him. The magistrate has directed the investigating officer to submit a charge-sheet within the stipulated time.
