Pakistan cuts petrol and diesel prices for upcoming fortnight

The Pakistani government has announced a reduction in fuel prices, cutting petrol by Rs1.49 per litre and high-speed diesel by Rs2.73 per litre. The changes take effect from Wednesday, September 30, according to Dawn.

Following this revision, the new retail price for petrol will be Rs387.54 per litre, while high-speed diesel will cost Rs402.24 per litre. The government continues to levy Rs114 per litre in taxes and duties on petrol and Rs100 per litre on diesel.

The Petroleum Division notification states these are the new prices for the forthcoming fortnight. The price of high-speed diesel had peaked at Rs520.35 per litre on April 3.
