Pakistan fight back from two goals down to draw with Philippines

Pakistan came from two goals behind to draw 2-2 with the Philippines in a FIFA ASEAN Cup match on Tuesday, as reported by Dawn. Ali Akbar Khan scored his first international goal to begin the fightback, with Abdul Samad Arshad netting the equaliser.

The draw gave Pakistan their first goals and first point in their debut appearance in a FIFA competition. The result was notable given Pakistan's world ranking of 198th, facing a Philippines side ranked over 60 places higher.

Pakistan had lost their opening group match 4-0 to Thailand. In this game, goalkeeper Yousuf Butt made a key one-on-one save before the Philippines scored a scrappy opening goal in the 24th minute.
