Pakistan proposes AI and digital reforms for CAREC border processes

At a CAREC ministerial conference, Federal Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal proposed using artificial intelligence to digitalise border processes across the region, according to a report by Business Recorder. He said the region must move from discussing connectivity to delivering practical trade corridors.

The minister stressed the need to harmonise customs regulations and remove delays slowing cargo movement. He highlighted Pakistan's proposal for a CAREC Digital Corridor to make trade faster and more productive.

Iqbal said Pakistan, with its strategic location, is ready to use geo-economics to advance cooperation and create jobs across the region. He stated that regional prosperity depends on countries working together and opening new pathways for investment.
