Pakistani activist honoured with Right Livelihood Award

A Pakistani human rights lawyer, Jalila Haider, has been honoured with the Right Livelihood Award, often called the 'alternative Nobel prize'. The award was announced on 30 September 2026.

Geo News reported that the award was also given to US artificial intelligence researcher Timnit Gebru and two women-led rights groups. The award recognises individuals and organisations for their work on global issues.
