Punjab forms committee to review Hina Javed murder investigation

The Punjab government has formed a three-member high-powered committee to review the investigation into the murder of Hina Javed, Dawn reported. Her husband and a domestic servant are currently on judicial remand in Adiala jail.

Rawalpindi police have received forensic and final postmortem reports which show marks of torture and other crucial evidence. According to the Punjab Forensic Science Agency's findings, there is startling evidence of the domestic servant's role in the murder.

The committee, formed on the instructions of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, will be headed by Additional IG Sohail Chattha. Police are waiting for the team to arrive in Rawalpindi to present the case file.
