Three terrorists killed in North Waziristan operation

State broadcaster PTV reported that security forces killed three terrorists in an intelligence-based operation in the Mir Ali area of North Waziristan district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, on Wednesday. According to security sources, hideouts of the Fitna al Khawarij, a term the state uses for the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), were targeted. A large quantity of weapons and ammunition was recovered.

The forces also thwarted an attempt by terrorists to intercept a ration truck near Mir Ali Bazaar. They stated their commitment to eliminating terrorism under the 'Azm-e-Istehkam' campaign.

President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the security forces for the successful operation, according to a separate report by Radio Pakistan. President Zardari said the operation against terrorism would continue to ensure peace, vowing to foil terrorist designs at all costs.
