PM Shehbaz invites global banks to invest in Pakistan during London visit

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has met senior executives from leading global financial institutions in London, inviting them to invest and expand services in Pakistan, according to Dawn. The meetings included officials from Barclays, JP Morgan, Citi, BlackRock and Rothschild & Co.

The Prime Minister's Office stated the meetings underscored growing international financial sector interest in Pakistan's economic reforms and improving investment climate. In discussions with JP Morgan, the PM invited the firm to expand its footprint, focusing on capital markets, trade finance and investment banking.

JP Morgan reaffirmed its interest in sovereign debt capital markets and corporate banking opportunities. During his visit, PM Shehbaz also became the first Pakistani prime minister to open trading at the London Stock Exchange.
