Pakistan's Foreign Office has confirmed three of its nationals were among five crew members killed during an operation to recover the hijacked oil tanker MT Honour 25 off the coast of Somalia. According to Dawn, the operation was carried out by the maritime police force of semi-autonomous Puntland.

The Foreign Office named the deceased Pakistani nationals as Rafiullah Khan, Syed Kashif Umer and Mahmood Ahmed Ansari. The Palau-flagged vessel had 19 crew members on board, including 10 Pakistanis.
